On 23 April 2025, the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security opened the public consultation for the Environmental Impact Assessment of the Mazara del Vallo 2 offshore wind project (VIA procedure 13513), allowing the public to submit comments until 23 May 2025. The consultation covers the 795 MW floating wind farm in the Strait of Sicily and its associated onshore works in the Province of Agrigento, including the municipalities of Agrigento and Favara.
