Ninfea Rinnovabili submitted a formal application on 12 December 2022 for a 30‑year maritime state concession to build and operate the Mazara del Vallo 2 floating offshore wind farm, comprising 53 turbines located about 52 kilometres off Mazara del Vallo and connected to shore via a subsea export cable. The application was then published by the local harbour master’s office and the Municipality of Mazara del Vallo for the possible submission of observations and objections.
