By August 2024, BayWa r.e. reported that geophysical studies were underway for its three priority floating offshore wind projects off Sicily, including Ninfea Rinnovabili’s Mazara del Vallo 2 site about 52 km offshore Mazara del Vallo, to support the definitive design of the wind farm and preparation of the environmental impact assessment.
