On 20 December 2024, Ninfea Rinnovabili submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment application under the PNIEC‑PNRR framework to the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security for the 795 MW Mazara del Vallo 2 offshore wind project in the Strait of Sicily and the Province of Agrigento. The VIA procedure, registered under code 13513 via the WEB‑VIA FER portal, initiated the formal environmental review of the wind farm and its onshore works in the municipalities of Agrigento and Favara.
