National Grid is responsible for providing the grid connection for the NeuConnect Interconnector on the UK side. Using its knowledge of the transmission network, agreed cost information and data supplied by NeuConnect, National Grid undertakes the assessment process and selects the most appropriate connection location to the NETS. It determines the connection point and associated substation works, including proposed towers, sealing end compounds and GIS buildings, and coordinates these with NeuConnect’s converter station and onshore cable route design, supporting both development studies and subsequent construction of connection assets.
