Description
Arup provided owner’s engineer services for the NeuConnect 1.4 GW HVDC interconnector between Great Britain and Germany. Arup supported the project from 2019, initially assisting with contractor procurement and regulatory submissions, and later embedding staff within the client team. During the construction phase starting in summer 2023, Arup scaled to provide multidisciplinary technical support and independent design assurance, and helped manage technical, commercial and operational interfaces with the UK and German TSOs (including National Grid in the UK and TenneT in Germany) across onshore and offshore elements.
