Offshore installation contractor for laying and protecting Nemo Link’s twin 400 kV HVDC submarine cables over roughly 130 km between the UK and Belgium.
DeepOcean was engaged on the Nemo Link HVDC interconnector as the specialist offshore installation contractor for the submarine cables. Working alongside J-Power Systems and Sumitomo Electric, DeepOcean carried out seabed preparation and marine operations for the laying and burial of the twin 400 kV HVDC XLPE interconnector cables along the approximately 130 km subsea route between Richborough in the UK and Zeebrugge in Belgium. Its scope focused on offshore cable lay, positioning, and protection to meet Nemo Link’s reliability and safety requirements ahead of commissioning in 2018–2019.
