Saipem was awarded a turnkey EPCI contract by Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) Offshore Wind Limited (owned by EDF Renewables UK and ESB) covering the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of steel jacket foundations for the project. The scope comprised 54 steel foundation jackets for the wind turbine generators and two steel foundation jackets for the offshore substations, as well as the transportation and installation of the associated offshore substation topsides. Saipem’s engineering centres in the UK and Italy designed the jackets, and Saipem manufactured them at its yards in Karimun (Indonesia) and Arbatax (Italy), before executing offshore installation activities in Scotland.
