On 29 April 2013, Moyle Interconnector Limited set out its long‑term plan to fund the Moyle Returns cable replacement project, estimating the low‑voltage cable replacement could cost around £60 million. The company explained that this investment would be recovered primarily through its existing cost‑pass‑through CAIRt use‑of‑system charge, supplemented by capacity auction revenues and company reserves, and indicated that unexpected additional CAIRt fees should be limited to about £10 million in 2014/15 and £20 million in 2015/16 for consumers.
