As part of the Moyle Returns Cable Project, the route for the two new low-voltage return conductor cables was engineered and selected on a corridor close to the existing north and south Moyle cables. AWJ Marine reports that this route choice followed bathymetric, seismic and ROV seabed surveys and was optimised to improve cable burial and protection, indicating completion of detailed route engineering for the replacement return conductors between Ballycronan More in County Antrim and Auchencrosh in Ayrshire.
