By early 2012, repairs to the Moyle Interconnector’s subsea cable had cost about £31 million and, following reduced capacity and associated revenue shortfalls, the Northern Ireland utility regulator allowed £14.5 million of additional income to be recovered from electricity customers in 2012/13 tariffs to finance Moyle Interconnector’s business under its cost pass‑through arrangements.
