The Morgan and Morecambe Offshore Wind Farms Transmission Assets — the joint Development Consent Order application by Morgan Offshore Wind Limited and Morecambe Offshore Windfarm Limited, covering offshore export cables, onshore landfall infrastructure, onshore export cables, onshore substations and grid connection cables across the East Irish Sea and North West England — has reached the decision stage before the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero. The determination is scheduled to be completed by 14 September 2026. On 20 May 2026 the Secretary of State issued a letter to interested parties requesting further information and inviting comments, with responses due by 22 June 2026. This is the expected determination date for the joint transmission consent; a decision had not yet been issued as of late May 2026.
