Morecambe Offshore Windfarm has announced the launch of its Community Benefit Fund (CBF) public consultation, formally opening a structured engagement process with residents, community organisations and stakeholders across the region. The consultation is described as now open and will run until October 2026, providing an extended window for local input on how the fund should be shaped and targeted. As the first stage of this process, an online survey is available and will remain open until 22 May 2026, giving early participants the opportunity to influence the initial design parameters and priorities for the CBF. The stated purpose of the consultation is to develop a long-term programme of investment that ensures nearby communities benefit directly from the Morecambe Offshore Windfarm project. Feedback gathered during the consultation period will be used to determine how the fund is structured, which themes or sectors it prioritises, and how it will be delivered to achieve meaningful, lasting impact in the local area. To support this, Morecambe Offshore Windfarm has appointed GrantScape, a national grant-making charity with experience in community funding, to lead the full consultation process, gather views and synthesise stakeholder input. This marks an early implementation step in the project’s wider community engagement and benefit strategy. The outcomes of the consultation are expected to inform the eventual governance arrangements and distribution mechanisms for the CBF, embedding local perspectives into the project’s long-term relationship with host communities and helping align project benefits with regional social, economic and environmental priorities.
