The geotechnical site investigation for the Morecambe Offshore Windfarm is expected to complete in mid-July 2026, approximately eight weeks after the survey vessel Fugro Voyager mobilises on 17 May 2026. The campaign duration is set out in the Notice to Mariners issued by Morecambe Offshore Windfarm Ltd on 6 May 2026, which states that "the survey vessel, FUGRO VOYAGER, is currently scheduled for mobilisation on the 17 May 2026 and is expected to undertake survey activities for approximately eight weeks." The 2026-07-12 completion projection is derived deterministically from that mobilisation date plus the stated eight-week duration, and is subject to weather and operational conditions during the campaign. The investigation follows the preceding UXO clearance campaign by Fugro Frontier in April 2026 and is intended to obtain detailed seabed and sub-seabed data across the project area to support fixed-bottom foundation design, inter-array cable routing, and the offshore substation platform location. Completion of this campaign will close out the major pre-construction site investigation phase for the 480 MW Morecambe project, providing the geotechnical evidence base needed for engineering design ahead of the targeted 2027 offshore construction start.
