Copenhagen Offshore Partners, developing the 480 MW fixed-bottom Morecambe offshore wind project on behalf of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, has stated that Final Investment Decision (FID) for the project is expected in 2027, subject to development consent being awarded and a successful Contracts for Difference (CfD) bid. In a subsequent Funding Statement for the Morgan and Morecambe Offshore Windfarms Transmission Assets, Morecambe Offshore Windfarm Ltd outlined that at or around FID the shareholders are expected to approve the financing plan for the project’s transmission assets, which are intended to be financed through non‑recourse project financing from domestic and international investors, with pre‑FID funding provided via equity subscriptions and shareholder loans backed by CIP’s CI V flagship fund.
