Planning consents for the Moray West offshore wind project, including its associated transmission infrastructure that will form the Moray West OFTO export link, were secured from the Scottish Government, Moray Council and Aberdeenshire Council during 2018–2019. These approvals confirmed the project as a fully consented offshore wind development in the Moray Firth, enabling subsequent construction of the wind farm, export cable route, and onshore substation connection to the UK transmission grid.
