Onshore Construction Start

Onshore construction works for the Moray West OFTO transmission assets commenced in 2022. Preliminary preparation works at the Whitehillock onshore substation site began in February 2022, with onshore cable corridor preparation works starting the following month. The onshore scope included the 220 kV export cable route from landfall at Sandend Bay to the Whitehillock substation, and 400 kV cables connecting Whitehillock to the Blackhillock 400 kV transmission substation near Keith. Robertson Civil Engineering delivered the main civil works for the Whitehillock substation under contract to Siemens Energy, completing in October 2023.
