Moray Offshore Windfarm (West) Limited commenced offshore site preparation works for the Moray West Offshore Transmission Infrastructure (OfTI) export cable corridor on 8 July 2023. The works comprised a Pre-Lay Grapnel Run (PLGR) conducted by the cable ship Nexans Skagerrak to relocate rope and wire debris ahead of forthcoming cable lay activities. The PLGR covered the full offshore export cable route from the wind farm site in the outer Moray Firth to the shore end near Portsoy, with completion planned by late July 2023.
