Ofgem announced that it would open the competitive Tender Round 7 on 30 November 2020 for the offshore transmission licence associated with the 950 MW Moray East offshore wind farm, initiating the process to select an independent Offshore Transmission Owner (later TC Moray East OFTO Limited) to own and operate the Moray East transmission assets. The notice, issued on 12 November 2020, confirmed that Moray East had met all qualifying conditions and that the tender for its offshore transmission link would open on that date.
