On 11 August 2020, the first 220 kV AC export power cable for the Moray East grid connection made landfall at Inverboyndie, Scotland, after being pulled through a pre-installed underground duct from NKT’s cable-laying vessel Victoria to the shore, as part of the three-cable transmission link to the new substation near New Deer.
