Installation of the three 220 kV AC offshore export cables for the Moray East grid connection commenced in August 2020. NKT used its cable laying vessel Victoria to begin laying the approximately 185 km of submarine export cables connecting the offshore wind farm to the onshore grid near New Deer, Aberdeenshire. The first export cable successfully made landfall at Inverboyndie on 10 August 2020.
