EuroWind, as a co-operation partner supporting TÜV Rheinland, carried out the wind resource and energy yield assessment activities for the Meerwind Süd and Meerwind Ost (Meerwind Süd|Ost) offshore wind farm project for WindMW. The scope included analysis of wind climatologic parameters and modelling-based calculation of farm energy yield and wake effects using EuroWind’s WIEN 3D meso-scale model, based on the project’s planned configuration and wind measurement inputs from FINO 1. The output was a wind and energy yield assessment report supporting project development decisions for the 80 Siemens SWT-3.6-120 turbines.
