WindMW GmbH announced the start of offshore construction for the 288MW Meerwind Süd|Ost offshore wind farm in the German North Sea, marking the beginning of site works approximately 23km northwest of Helgoland. The project, comprising 80 turbines, entered its offshore construction phase with suppliers and vessels mobilised following completion of project financing in 2011 under Germany’s KfW offshore wind programme.
