Constraints Mapped

Using the completed environmental, geophysical, geotechnical and archaeological surveys, the Med Wind team refined the project’s spatial constraints, delineating and excluding all sites of environmental interest from the development area and updating the layout so that the wind farm footprint was reduced from an initial c. 2,500 km² to about 900 km², while remaining more than 80 km off the Sicilian coast.
