In an August 2024 feature on floating wind in Italy, BayWa r.e. stated that geotechnical investigations were in progress for three priority floating offshore wind projects off Sicily, developed via Ninfea Rinnovabili and Regolo Rinnovabili, as part of work to finalise the wind farm designs and prepare for EIA submissions.
