Vekselstrømkabelen (162 km) som går mellom Kollsnes og Martin Linge-feltet, verdens lengste HVAC power-from-shore kabel, levert som del av Subsea 7s SURF EPCI-kontrakt.
Subsea 7 Norway AS held the main SURF EPCI contract for Martin Linge, awarded by Total E&P Norge in November 2012 and valued at about USD 800 million. Within this scope Subsea 7 was responsible for engineering, procurement, construction, installation, protection and commissioning of the world’s longest HVAC power-from-shore cable, a 145 kV three‑core subsea link approximately 162 km long between Kollsnes and the Martin Linge platform. Subsea 7 carried out detailed route and field layout design, crossing and protection design, and installation using its own vessels, and integrated the cable within a wider subsea package including gas export pipelines, risers, control and fibre‑optic cables and the FSO mooring system. ABB’s (now NKT’s) Karlskrona plant supplied the cable itself as Subsea 7’s subcontractor, while Subsea 7 retained overall responsibility towards the operator for delivery and performance of the subsea power link.
