Siemens AS held the main contract for the land-based facilities at Kollsnes associated with the Martin Linge power-from-shore scheme. Awarded in June 2013, the scope covered the design, equipment supply and construction of the new onshore transformer/substation installation that connects the Norwegian onshore grid to the 145 kV HVAC subsea cable feeding the Martin Linge platform and its FSO. The company delivered the onshore electrical infrastructure and switching facilities required to transform and export power from the mainland network into the subsea cable system, enabling full electrification of the offshore field from shore.
