DELAYED +2yr (Apr 2026): Commercial operations at full power were projected for 1 January 2029. A 2023 MaresConnect brochure and a 2025 Foresight article both refer to commercial operations by 2029, but the CRU’s Initial Project Assessment (May 2025) specifies a planned commercial operations date of 2030. This regulatory date, plus delays in early project activities, makes 2029 optimistic, so commercial operations are delayed to sometime in 2030, represented as 31 December 2030 with year-level precision. --- According to project owner Foresight Energy Infrastructure Partners, the MaresConnect 750 MW Ireland–Great Britain interconnector is planned to start commercial operations by 2029, following construction planned to begin at the end of 2026.
