As part of the same turnkey award, Enemalta selected Nexans to supply and construct the 220 kV substation and terminal station in Malta, including compensating elements, protection and control systems for integration of the Malta–Sicily interconnector with Malta’s 132 kV network and the 220 kV UCTE network in Sicily. This contract scope covers the Magħtab terminal station and associated equipment at both Magħtab and Ragusa required for safe and efficient operation of the 200 MW cable link.
