Description
A joint venture between CESI S.p.A. and Techfem S.p.A. was awarded the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) contract for the Malta–Italy Interconnector 2 (IC2) by InterConnect Malta. The JV is responsible for the overall cable system design, including route engineering and technical definition of both the subsea and onshore sections between Maghtab in Malta and Ragusa in Sicily. Their work supports permitting, tendering and subsequent EPC delivery by defining key parameters such as cable configuration, landfall arrangements, and onshore corridor to the 220kV Ragusa and Maghtab substations. This role sits in the development phase of the project, providing onshore cable design alongside wider interconnector design and engineering consultancy services.
