In June 2025, Interconnect Malta awarded the Owner’s Engineer contract for the second Malta–Sicily interconnector (tender CT3032/2024) to Rina Consulting S.p.A. and Aventa Italia S.r.l., confirming their appointment as the Owner’s Engineer team for the subsea cable link between Malta and Italy.
