On 24 March 2023, ESB announced that Crown Estate Scotland’s INTOG seabed leasing process had resulted in an offer of exclusive development rights for the 100MW Malin Sea Wind floating offshore wind project in Scottish waters off the north coast of Northern Ireland. The successful bid, developed collaboratively with Dublin Offshore Technology and Belfast-based CATAGEN, designates a specific site in the Malin Sea for an innovation-focused floating wind farm intended to demonstrate cost-reducing mooring technology and support sustainable aviation fuel production.
