Ahead of installing the four main export cables at London Array, the consortium undertook offshore site preparation along the cable route by clearing debris from the seabed, using a vessel to drag a grapnel hook along the export corridors. This preparatory work ensured the seabed was suitable for subsequent trenching and burial of the export cables between the offshore substations and the onshore substation at Cleve Hill in Kent.
