London Array’s foundation installation campaign, covering 177 monopile foundations for 175 turbines and two offshore substations, was carried out from March 2011 until October 2012. Foundations up to 68 m long and weighing as much as 650 tonnes were hammered into seabed depths down to 25 m using purpose-built installation vessels MPI Adventure and Sea Worker, with HLV Svanen used for some complex locations, completing the full set of foundations needed for turbine and substation installation.
