Planned offshore installation (laying and burial) of subsea power cables, including the 150-kV export cables between the London Array offshore substations and the Cleve Hill grid connection point.
Visser & Smit Marine Contracting was identified by the London Array consortium as one of the contractors awarded a separate contract for the installation of subsea power cables on the London Array project, covering both export and inter-array systems. This scope included offshore installation activities such as laying and burying the Nexans-supplied 150 kV export cables that later became part of the London Array OFTO transmission asset, alongside the 33 kV inter-array cables. The contract represented construction-phase subsea cable installation works, although a subsequent statement from the company indicated that the intended cooperation with its installation partner was put on hold, leaving the final status of the contract unclear.
