Planning permission for the onshore elements of the London Array project was granted in 2007, authorising onshore works including the landfall and short onshore sections of the 150 kV export cables and the new Cleve Hill substation connection point near Graveney in North Kent. This onshore consent allowed the developers to construct the infrastructure needed to connect the London Array transmission system to National Grid’s 400 kV network at Cleve Hill, forming the onshore part of what is now operated under the London Array OFTO regime.
