Prior to installing the export cables, London Array undertook offshore site preparation for the London Array OFTO transmission system by clearing debris from the planned cable route, using a vessel to drag a grapnel hook along the seabed so the four export cables could later be safely laid and buried between the offshore substations and the landfall in the Swale.
