In July 2011 the two offshore substations that form the core offshore assets of the London Array OFTO were installed within the London Array Phase 1 wind farm area, using heavy-lift vessel Rambiz to place pre-assembled topsides on their foundations, marking the start of offshore construction of the transmission system that collects turbine power and feeds it into the export cables.
