During manufacturing and factory acceptance testing of the London Array subsea export cables, the first cable HV2 suffered multiple electrical breakdowns requiring several factory joints, and HV3 also failed FAT once and was repaired. Subsequent export cables HV3, HV1 and HV4 were manufactured to a revised design intended to prevent recurrence of the damage observed on HV2.
