On 11 July 2014, cooperative-owned energy company SEAS-NVE Holding awarded JD Contractor A/S a contract, via a tender procedure, for the installation of 10 kV submarine power cables on the Danish internal links between Lolland and Askø and between Lilleø and Femø, with the contract value undisclosed.
2014Cable Installation Complete
In 2014, SEAS-NVE completed the replacement of the submarine power cables between Lolland, Askø, Lilleø and Femø, giving Askø for the first time a 10 kV electrical connection to Lolland and simultaneously installing a fibre-optic cable to improve digital communication for the small island communities.

In 2014 SEAS-NVE completed the replacement of the subsea power cables between Lolland, Askø, Lilleø and Femø, giving Askø its first-ever 10 kV electrical connection to Lolland and simultaneously installing a new subsea cable that carries both electricity and fibre, thereby securing the islands’ power supply and digital communications. This marks the Lolland–Askø interconnector entering full operational service at its intended capacity.
