On 22 June 2020, the Lithuanian Government adopted Resolution No. 697 designating specific parts of Lithuania’s territorial sea and/or exclusive economic zone in the Baltic Sea, including the area later used for an offshore wind farm near Palanga, as zones where tenders for offshore renewable electricity plants with defined installed capacities would be organised.
