Lithuania’s Ministry of Energy presented for public consultation amendments to the Law on Energy from Renewable Sources to revise the conditions of the offshore wind tender that was announced in November 2024 and suspended in January 2025, covering the country’s second offshore wind park. The proposed changes aim to protect consumers, expand the number of beneficiary municipalities, rebalance onshore versus offshore generation, and reduce overall project costs by about EUR 500 million, with the second offshore wind park tender to be renewed after the Government and Seimas approve the amendments and the park expected to start operating around 2033.
