The Government of Lithuania approved the location and developer eligibility requirements for offshore wind farm tenders in the Baltic Sea and announced that, in addition to the first 700 MW project, a second offshore wind farm tender in Lithuanian territorial waters near Palanga would be launched in autumn 2023. The National Energy Regulatory Council (NERC) is to run the tender, applying financial capacity, offshore experience, environmental obligations, and community contribution criteria to select the developer.
