Description
VolkerFitzpatrick, as part of VolkerWessels UK, was selected by National Grid for the HVDC onshore cable civil works framework (Lot 2), which explicitly covers the LionLink interconnector alongside other HVDC schemes. This framework position makes VolkerFitzpatrick eligible to deliver civil works associated with onshore HVDC cable routes, including trenching, ducting, joint bays, access roads and reinstatement. For LionLink, the framework is intended to support future call‑off contracts for constructing the underground HVDC cable sections in Suffolk between the Walberswick landfall, the onshore converter station east of Saxmundham and the Kiln Lane/Friston grid connection.
