Siemens Energy secured a position on National Grid’s HVDC converter systems framework, which covers the supply of converter stations and associated HVDC equipment for a portfolio of projects including LionLink. Through this agreement, Siemens Energy is eligible to provide engineering design, manufacture and installation of onshore HVDC converter station systems for LionLink’s UK connection, subject to call‑off contracts. The framework, lasting five years with an option to extend, was established to support early HVDC projects such as Eastern Green Link 4, Sealink and LionLink.
