"The HVDC onshore cable civils Framework has been awarded to Balfour Beatty, Murphy, and VolkerFitzpatrick... Both Frameworks cover confirmed and anticipated projects, including Eastern Green Link 4 ... and LionLink in partnership with TenneT." [42] "Murphy is delighted to have been awarded a place on National Grid’s High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) civil works supply chain framework... including Eastern Green Link 4 ... and LionLink in partnership with TenneT." [54]
Murphy was awarded a place by National Grid on the HVDC onshore cable civil works framework (Lot 2), which includes the LionLink offshore hybrid interconnector among its confirmed projects. Through this framework, Murphy is pre‑qualified to undertake civil construction for onshore HVDC cable sections, including excavation, duct and cable trench construction, joint bays, temporary access and reinstatement. For LionLink, the framework is intended to underpin delivery of the underground HVDC corridor from the Walberswick landfall to the converter station near Saxmundham and onwards to the grid connection, with detailed scope and values to be defined in future project‑specific call‑off contracts.
