GE Vernova was awarded a place on National Grid’s HVDC converter systems framework, which will provide converter equipment and associated works for multiple UK HVDC projects, including the LionLink interconnector between Great Britain and the Netherlands. Under this framework, GE Vernova is pre-qualified to design, manufacture and deliver HVDC converter systems and related onshore converter station equipment that LionLink may call off during its construction phase. The five‑year framework, with an option for a three‑year extension, is intended to secure critical HVDC converter capacity for early projects such as Eastern Green Link 4, Sea Link and LionLink.
