On 19 February 2008 the Lincs wind farm developer signed a contract for the supply of the 132 kV export cables, specifying two approximately 48 km lengths of 630 mm² cable plus associated spare and sea-defence crossing sections. Subsequent project documentation identifies Nexans Norway as the manufacturer of the two long 132 kV copper export cables used to connect the offshore substation to the onshore grid at Walpole, which later became part of the Lincs OFTO assets.
