On 28 September 2010 Centrica issued the "Lincs Subsea Export Cables – Preliminary Route Engineering Report", providing detailed engineering for the subsea export cable route from the Lincs offshore substation to landfall east of the River Nene and onward to the Walpole substation. This preliminary route engineering work refined earlier corridor studies, addressing constructability and installation methodology for the export cables that later formed the Lincs offshore transmission assets.
