By December 2023, the Levenmouth Demonstration Turbine had been established as one of the experimental offshore sites in the EU‑funded AIRE project, with ORE Catapult using the turbine’s 800+ sensors and lidar systems to develop offshore environmental and blade‑erosion datasets and to validate numerical models and test methodologies aimed at reducing blade operational and maintenance costs.
